Berlin Health Week 2013

The inaugural Berlin Health Week will take place from October 21 to 27, 2013 in Berlin and Brandenburg. A wide variety of events surrounding health-related topics will be held during the week and will be open to the public.

“We strive to broadcast the strengths of the healthcare industries in Berlin and Brandenburg for an entire week in a regional, national and international context during the Berlin Health Week. Topics will appeal to a broad audience, which will range from interested locals and other Germans who would like to learn more about health and healthcare, to specialists from Germany and around the world. We are pleased that we can offer so many interesting events in October as part of Berlin Health Week,” explained Melanie Bähr, Managing Director at Berlin Partner.

In line with successful week-long formats such as Berlin Fashion Week or Berlin Web Week, Berlin Health Week will provide a platform for promoters to register their individual events. Diverse institutions including med-tech and pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and institutions of higher education have already signalized their support. Berlin Partner and ZAB Brandenburg Economic Development Board will implement Berlin Health Week’s central marketing, while individual events will carry out additional marketing activities. Interested institutions are encouraged to participate with open houses, tours or informative workshops.

Starting today the Berlin Health Week has gone online at www.berlinhealthweek.de. Anyone interested in attending events can register online. Promoters can simultaneously use the portal to announce their events during the week. Some activities have already been listed, for instance the World Health Summit, which will take place this year for the 5th time in Berlin, the XV. Humanitarian Congress Berlin, and the Cluster Conference for the Healthcare Industries Cluster in Berlin-Brandenburg. Companies such as Pfizer and Otto Bock Healthcare with its Science Center Berlin are also participating in the first Berlin Health Week. The online calendar will continue to fill between now and October, and the spectrum of events will represent all facets of health and healthcare in the capital region.

The patron for Berlin Health Week is the Berlin Senator for Economics, Technology and Research, Cornelia Yzer.
