30 years of Partner für Berlin

30 years of partnership – 30 years for Berlin.

This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Partner für Berlin and look back on three decades full of events, changes and ideas! Where shall we start? By introducing the Supervisory Board members of Partner für Berlin Holding, letting them talk about their moments and sharing their view of Berlin.

Three questions, three answers – today with ...

Martina Hacker, Managing director KPM and Member of the Supervisory Board of Partner für Berlin Holding Gesellschaft für Hauptstadt-Marketing mbH

Why are you committed to our city as a Berlin partner?

As a member of the Supervisory Board of Partner für Berlin, I can play an active role in promoting Berlin as a business location so that this city continues to grow and develop positively. In the area of marketing, Partner für Berlin increases the perception of Berlin as an innovative and liveable metropolis through regional, national and international marketing.  The network’s Berlin partners help to convince investors, companies and talents of the city’s merits. This not only makes it possible to provide information about the location, but also to get people excited about this city.

What is typical Berlin for you?

Berlin is a city with a unique culture, history and lifestyle. It stands for diversity, openness, curiosity, opportunities and freedom. The same goes for iconic places like quaint pubs and street markets. Berlin specialities such as kebab, currywurst, doughnuts and pancakes. The straightforward and direct Berlin language with a coarse sense of humour. And with familiar humour and self-irony, I remember the headline “Nobody has any intention of opening an airport.”

What visions do you have for the future of the capital?

In addition to clear visions such as an international business location, quality of life, climate neutrality and social commitment, I have the vision that Berlin will continue to promote what it stands for: Freedom and tolerance – important values for harmonious living together!
