Airborne in Europe

Berlin, 5 June 2024 – From 5 to 9 June, the International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) will take place again in Berlin. The trade fair covers the entire value chain of the aerospace industry and is regarded as a leader in the areas of innovation, new technology and sustainability. This year, the European Commission is acting as a strategic partner. The motto “Airborne in Europe” sets the course: Europe’s technological dominance is to be strengthened and the path to a sustainable future for aerospace is to be shaped together. The Federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg will also be appearing together for the first time with a joint stand in the combined Aviation and Space Hall.

The strong presence of the capital region also offers the NewSpace sector in particular, which is developing dynamically in Berlin, the opportunity to present itself to an international audience. Several delegations from Europe, North America and Canada are expected at the joint stand. In addition to the joint stand of the two federal states, the Berlin Brandenburg Aerospace Alliance will also be hosting a stand in the International Supply Centre. And the next generation doesn’t miss out either: As a partner of the ILA Talent Hub, Berlin Partner is welcoming two groups of students and one group of school pupils to give them an insight into the opportunities and possibilities in the aerospace industry in the capital region.

This year, the trade fair will once again delight delegations and trade visitors from more than 100 countries with an exciting and varied program. The joint stand of the capital region is also orientated towards this. Among other things, the State reception on 05.06.2024 is an important item on the program. The several hundred guests expected will be welcomed by Franziska Giffey, Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises of the State of Berlin, Prof. Dr. Jörg Steinbach, Minister for Economics, Labour and Energy of the State of Brandenburg, and Aletta von Massenbach, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. On the following day, 06.06.2024, the Aerospace Breakfast will take place in the morning at the Berlin-Brandenburg stand and offers the opportunity for knowledge transfer, exchange and networking. On 07.06.2024, the capital region will finally be able to present itself at the ILA Future Lab Stage with a lecture and subsequent panel discussion under the motto “From Berlin to Aerospace - Hightech from the capital region”. Together with the Cluster Transport, Mobility and Logistics, the company Nex Aero, the TU Berlin, the PtX Lab Lausitz and the Centre for Metropolitan Studies will be represented.

Those who would like to take the opportunity for an even more direct exchange can take advantage of the B2B Matchmaking organised by the Enterprise Europe Network. The 20-minute meeting slots are available to all participants free of charge and can be booked in advance via a platform.

“Pioneering Aerospace”: The slogan of this important trade fair is very promising – as is the program. It is well worth a visit.
