1.  Describe your company in a tweet? 

ASML is a high-tech company and leading supplier to the semiconductor industry. In Berlin, more than 1,600 employees develop and manufacture key components for ASML lithography systems. What we do moves the world forward. Come join our team and shape progress with us.

 

2.  Why are you involved as a Berlin-Partner? 

Due to the history of our company, which was founded in 1952 as a glass wholesaler under the name Berliner Glas, we have been firmly rooted in the capital for decades.

As Berlin Partner, we want to strengthen our commitment to Berlin and network with other strong Berlin companies and institutions. Because together we can achieve even more - for the economy, the city and the people who live here.

 

3.  What issues are driving you in terms of your industry?  

Semiconductors are a key technology that affects every aspect of our lives. It optimizes the way we live, work and spend our leisure time, and it is helping to solve some of our society's toughest challenges, such as mobility, health, green technologies and connectivity. Thus, what we do is at the heart of all electronic devices that inform, entertain and connect us. The demand for microchips has been steadily increasing for decades and will continue to do so in the years to come. We are driven to contribute to the progress of microchip development with our machines.

 

4.  What makes Berlin special for you?

Berlin is a melting pot of tradition and innovation. This is also reflected by ASML in Berlin with its history. In addition, our capital is a place that attracts smart and motivated people from all over the world who want to be part of and thrive in its unique vibe. We invite these people to become part of ASML in Berlin and shape progress together.

 

5.  How does your company implement the topic of sustainability? 

ASML has set concrete and ambitious goals when it comes to sustainability: We aim to be carbon neutral by 2030 - this applies to us as well as to our supply chain. To achieve these goals, we are committed to reducing our CO₂ footprint wherever we can, increasing the productivity of our products, and at the same time reducing their absolute energy consumption.
