Berlin at the Hannover Messe 2022

From May 30 to June 2, 2022, the Hannover Messe physically took place again for the first time in three years. The Berlin-Brandenburg capital region presented itself with exciting companies and projects across a total of four booths at the world's most important leading trade fair for the industry. The Berlin stand showed the diversity and innovative strength of the industrial location under the motto "It’s a Berlin thing". Visitors could touch and marvel at the exhibitors' products from a total of seven companies (WISTA Management, Fraunhofer IPK, Würth Electronics eiSos, MotorSkins, THEO, Ottobock, & BigRep GmbH), and ask them questions directly on site.

The trade fair highlight was on June 1, with a conference program on living and working in Berlin, AIoT and transformation of the capital, as well as special guests. Together with Stefan Franzke, the Senator for Economic Affairs, Stephan Schwarz traveled to Hanover on that day - in his luggage a full program with a visit to the Berlin-Brandenburg joint stand, a tour of the trade fair as well as company talks, a panel discussion, and finally a show opening and networking event.

The Industrial City Berlin 2018 -2021 master plan has created an important strategic framework to raise Berlin's profile as a hotspot for digitally driven urban manufacturing, as well as Berlin's opportunities and challenges in the industrial transformation process: How can business, politics, and science further complement each other in building innovative industrial ecosystems?

During the panel discussion, Stephan Schwarz, Senator for Economic Affairs of the State of Berlin and Stefanie Brickwede, Managing Director at MGA Mobility | MGA Medical - Mobility goes Additive e.V., as well as our Managing Director Dr. Stefan Franzke, spoke about the transformation of Berlin's industry. "Today, industry is also research and knowledge," emphasized Stephan Schwarz. The exchange of innovation and knowledge is essential for the transformation and sustainable development of Berlin's industry. That's why Dr. Franzke thinks it's important to meet again here, at the Hannover Messe, and exchange ideas.

Under the motto BERLIN PLAYGROUND HANNOVER MESSE 2022, the Berlin appearance became a unique experimental field. The creative potential of Berlin's industry was interactively brought to life across 85 square meters with exciting industrial products "Made in Berlin". At the same time, the exhibits reflect the diverse character of Berlin as a production location. The Berlin Playground invited visitors to try things out for themselves and discover them through play.
