Berlin Fashion Week 2023

16. January 2023 – With the Premium Group fashion trade shows taking place at the same time, Berlin is kick-starting the year as a mecca for the national and international fashion and creative scene. The first edition of Berlin Fashion Week will take place from 16 to 21 January 2023 and features a diverse and sustainable programme. This will include first-class runway shows and creative installations, pioneering panels and conferences, plus numerous side events.

Sustainability, inclusion and innovation will form the central themes of Berlin Fashion week. The new Berlin Contemporary format along with creations from Ukrainian designers will add a special touch. Featuring 18 collections in total, award-winning fashion labels and ambitious young talent will provide a diverse range of exciting fashion shows for the audience.

Off the runway, the city will also be transformed into a fashion capital with styles made accessible to the general public. For example, the Berliner Salon will combine the best of fashion and design in its exhibition, offering a stage for sustainable fashion labels as a Berlin-based and national designer. The Studio2Retail initiative brings fashion to life through pop-up events and workshops in Berlin’s stores.

New opportunities will arise in the world of digital fashion during Berlin Fashion Week with the ‘Yoonaverse’, the Berlin metaverse founded by Berlin startup yoona.ai. Germany’s first metaverse event at Fashion Week enables fashion labels to present their ultra-realistic 3D clothing range in the form of digital runway shows and create new and exciting collection experiences for buyers and end consumers. The digital premiere held in the Yoonaverse will also feature virtual workshops and panels.

Berlin Fashion Week will kick off on the first evening with an invitation by the Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, Stephan Schwarz, along with Fashion Council Germany, to an opening ceremony at the Stilwerk KantGaragen. The event will feature fireside chats and high-profile guests from the fields of fashion, politics and economics. Along with Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey, State Secretary Michael Biel and Christiane Arp from Fashion Council Germany, our managing director Dr Stefan Franzke and Berlin partners ahead media GmbH Berlin, Artprojekt Entwicklungen GmbH, ENERGY MEDIA GmbH, KPM – Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin GmbH, Microsoft Deutschland GmbH, Siemens AG, Tegel Projekt GmbH and Xi De Sign GmbH also took part in the networking event.

We look forward to a successful week in the fashion world.
