BERLIN FASHION WEEK JULI 2023

10. July 2023 - As an industry-leading event, Berlin Fashion Week will take place for the second time this year from 10 to 13 July 2023. It will feature a broad repertoire that celebrates contemporary fashion, cultural diversity and creativity. Over several days, the German capital will once again be transformed into a hotspot of the national and international fashion and creativity scene with top-class fashion shows, creative presentations and exhibitions, innovative events and conferences plus numerous side events. Innovation, sustainability, inclusion and promoting talent along with solidarity and interactions within the fashion industry will be the focus of Berlin Fashion Week and showcase Berlin as a city of creativity and a networking hub.

With its creative ecosystem, the fashion industry has established itself as a key economic factor and job creator, making it an essential part of Berlin’s creative industry. The Berlin Contemporary design competition will also resume this season, promoting the collections of Berlin-based and national designers. These include both established labels such as ODEEH, Esther Perbandt, RIANNA + NINA and William Fan as well as the up-and-coming designers Acceptance Letter Studio, Fassbender, Haderlump Atelier Berlin, LML Studio, Milk of Lime, Namilia, Olivia Ballard, Richert Beil, Sia Arnika, SF1OG plus the Ukrainian labels Bobkova, Litkovska, DZHUS and PODYH.

“Berlin Fashion Week is our showcase for the emerging Berlin fashion and textile industry. Fashion “Made in Berlin” is fresh, bold and future-oriented. What’s more, with almost 4,800 businesses and 25,500 employees, it’s also a growing economic factor. We want to consciously evolve Berlin Fashion Week as a creative platform for the most visionary designers from our city and worldwide to set an international precedent. I’m particularly pleased that we were once again able to display Ukrainian talent and their collections in Berlin. This lived solidarity is a matter close to our hearts and those of the creators of Berlin Fashion Week.” - Franziska Giffey, Senator for Economy, Energy and Enterprise

The Fashion Week will kick off with DER BERLINER SALON in the Crown Prince's Palace on Unter den Linden and will honour the event’s creation in 2015 in this historic setting. The group exhibition will present Germany’s latest creative talents and brands in the fields of design and fashion. The modern collaboration of the showcase platform newEST with Berlin’s state museums also highlights the special synergy of architecture, art and fashion in Berlin and offers a new insight into the city’s iconic cultural institutions in dialogue with the contemporary fashion industry. Visitors can also enjoy further exciting formats such as Neo.Fashion and W.E4.FASHION DAY, events and pop-ups by the Studio2Retail initiative, the BeyondFashionBerlin trade fair, the PREMIUM and SEEK flagship formats as well as the 202030 Summit sustainability conference and Yoonaverse conference.

Berlin Fashion Week will kick off on the first evening with an invitation by the Senator for Economics, Energy and Enterprises, Franziska Giffey, along with Fashion Council Germany, to an opening ceremony at the Telegraphenamt. The event will feature fireside chats and high-profile guests from the fields of fashion, politics and economics. Alongside State Secretary Michael Biel and Christiane Arp from Fashion Council Germany, our Managing Director Dr Stefan Franzke will also be taking part in the networking event together with our Berlin Partners.

We are looking forward to Berlin Fashion Week as a responsible movement for freedom, inclusion and creativity!
