Capital City Electromobility Conference

Berlin, 3 July 2024 - The number of publicly accessible charging points in Berlin increased again last year: With 28,000 such stations, a new record was reached. Of these, 4,200 are publicly accessible, all others are used privately, i.e. at home or at work. According to the Federal motor transport authority (KBA), almost 72,000 vehicles in Berlin were electrically powered in the first quarter of 2024 – including around 2,350 heavy commercial vehicles and 230 buses.

This and other topics will be discussed at the Capital City Conference on Electromobility on 3 July 2024. These include the “Overall charging infrastructure strategy 2030 for the State of Berlin”, electromobility in times of the energy and transport transition, the strategies of the Federal and State governments and the business models for the mobility of today and tomorrow. The Berlin Agency for Electromobility eMO, which is part of Berlin Partner, is organising the hybrid event in the Rotes Rathaus for the 12th  time.

Dr Stefan Franzke, CEO, Berlin Partner: “Functioning and climate-friendly mobility is crucial for Berlin’s attractiveness. Intelligent mobility solutions create jobs and strengthen our business location. Berlin is leading the way in electromobility and is a pioneer in Germany. The Capital City Conference on Electromobility is therefore an important meeting place where all stakeholders come together to promote forward-looking mobility for Berlin further. Only together can we achieve our goal of making Berlin fit and competitive for the future.”

Further information and figures can be found graphically on the eMO website or in our press release.
