Fashion collections and catwalks

Berlin, 1 July 2024 – In Berlin, fashion is celebrated every day. However, when trendy Berliners meet fashion lovers from all over the world during the winter and summer editions of Berlin Fashion Week (BFW)), the passion for haute couture, prêt-à-porter and street style culminates in a veritable celebration of fashion. This will also be the case from 1 to 4 July, when this year’s summer edition of Berlin Fashion Week will be held. The internationally renowned event is closely interwoven with the city itself – catwalk presentations, side events, contemporary shows, private previews, dinner events and parties will take place in various locations and different districts.

Those interested can get an overview of the shows and side events in the official schedule on the BFW website. Among other things, the shows of the winners of the Berlin Contemporary concept competition are specially highlighted there. The 18 talents form the “heart” of the fashion week and were selected by an international jury of experts. Together with established designers and brands as well as innovative newcomers, they represent the very unique character of the Berlin fashion festival: creative, diverse, courageous. This year, the event once again stands for “merging subcultural movements, art, design and music with fashion”[1] and implements this on the basis of values such as freedom and tolerance. In addition, the Fashion Council Germany, responsible for coordinating the BFW calendar, as part of its partnership with the Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW), has committed itself to introducing the CPHFW’s “Sustainability requirements” as a binding criterion for the BFW shows. An innovative and necessary move to advance sustainability efforts in the industry.

With the help of the Fashion Council Germany, uhura digital and Press Factory, Berlin Partner is also involved in marketing the BFW and carries out marketing services for “the project” Berlin Fashion Week and the corresponding campaign throughout the year on behalf of the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises. For this reason, Berlin Partner is also delighted to be present during the fashion week. Together with some partners from the Berlin Partner Network, Managing Director Dr. Stefan Franzke will take part in the Fireside Dinner, the official opening event, at Beast Berlin on 1 July, where Franziska Giffey, Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, will also be present.

Afterwards, in addition to the official opening party, the fashion audience can expect a varied and colourful programme on the following days – mostly only for invited and accredited guests. However, there are also events open to the public, such as the “STUDIO2RETAIL”, format, in which decentralised event locations (retail, shops, studios) that stand for sustainability and innovation are presented during the BFW and serve as a place for interested parties to exchange ideas, network and make discoveries. An overview of the so-called open to public events can be found here
