Happy Birthday, Partner für Berlin

Berlin, 27 June 2024 – Over the past 30 years, Partner für Berlin has accompanied Berlin on its way to becoming an attractive capital city:  Starting as a city of construction sites, the capital’s marketing transformed the image of Berlin in people’s minds into a city of new beginnings, opportunities and freedom. Even now, marketers are strengthening Berlin’s reputation as a popular startup metropolis, a sought-after business location and one of the most liveable places in Europe.

The partner network now includes more than 250 companies that are actively shaping Berlin’s future and helping Berlin’s economy to grow with their commitment. Together with the State of Berlin, Partner für Berlin is grouping together marketing efforts and developing a comprehensive marketing strategy for the German capital. Over the last 30 years, the private sector has provided around 150 million euros in funding to launch and support campaigns and to market the science and business location worldwide.

Dr. Stefan Franzke, CEO of Partner für Berlin: “Thanks to Partner für Berlin, the capital has developed into a globally recognised and dynamic business metropolis: open, tolerant, colourful and forward-looking. I have been able to accompany this development as Managing Director for ten years. We see ourselves as a source of inspiration and ideas for new perspectives, developments, initiatives and projects. Berlin has a long tradition of the public and private sectors working together for growth and development. Economic development is not the achievement of one person; it can only be achieved as a team. The most important argument and the best ambassadors for the capital are still the Berlin companies and startups with their innovative products.”

Reason enough to celebrate this anniversary with a big party – at one of the places that, like the city itself, stands for new beginnings, transformation and creativity: Holzmarkt25 in Friedrichshain.
