It suits you, Berlin!

Berlin, 4.02.2025: Paris, Copenhagen, Berlin – what do these three European metropolises have in common? At the beginning of each year they are the venue for top fashion events. Following the Haute Couture shows in Paris and the Copenhagen Fashion Week, the international fashion scene will now meet in Berlin from 31 January to 3 February to celebrate the January/February edition of Berlin Fashion Week (BFW). In the German (fashion) capital, the always extremely diverse audience, consisting of creatives, industry experts, buyers and the press, can expect a programme characterised by diversity and individuality regarding fashion trends, innovations, design and (sub)cultural currents. On behalf of the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises (SenWEB), Berlin Partner is once again managing the BFW umbrella brand campaign this year and is also coordinating the accompanying content creator campaign in collaboration with the social and influencer agency Intermate commissioned by Berlin Partner.

Berlin does what the city does best: Designers, event organisers and hosts present bold cross-connections between fashion, design, art and music – and use the city itself as an impressive backdrop. Unusual and sometimes surprising locations represent the exciting combination of urbanity and subculture that characterises Berlin. While NEWEST, a show format curated by NOWADAYS, is organising three shows in the Halle am Berghain, the Berlin Salon is celebrating its tenth anniversary in the impressive new building of the Gemäldegalerie am Kulturforum. The approximately 7,000 square metre exhibition space offers room for ten years of Berlin fashion history. The Kantgaragen in Charlottenburg are the venue for both shows and side events of the INTERVENTION showcase format, which will be established in February 2024. While the shows provide a worthy stage for the four outstanding designers Andrej Gronau , LUEDER, FCG/VOGUE Fashion Fund winner Kasia Kucharska and GmbH, the community activation format UGG Circle and a jazz concert and workshops presented by Levi’s are characterised by entertainment and the opportunity for exchange and networking.

A total of 31 shows will take place in locations throughout Berlin over the four-day event period - including the shows of the 19 winners of the BFW concept competition in the Berlin Contemporary category, which is financed by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises as part of the state initiative Projekt Zukunft (co-financed by the ERDF fund) and organised by the Fashion Council Germany. The prizewinners include Andrej Gronau, Avenir, Clara Colette Miramon, COLRS, GmbH, Haderlump,HORROR VACUI, Laura Gerte, Lou de Bètoly, LUEDER, MARKE, ODEEH,PALMWINE IceCREAM, PLNGNS, Richert Beil, SF1OG, Sia Arnika, SVEASØN and William Fan, who is presenting his contribution this year at the Berliner Philharmonie.

Other confirmed shows include Balletshofer, Danny Reinke, Kasia Kucharska, Kilian Kerner,Marc Cain, Marcel Ostertag, Marija Chany, Marlon Ferry,Maximilian Gedra,Melisa Minca, OBS and Rebekka Ruetz. In addition, side events, conferences, trade fairs and other formats of Berlin’s international creative scene offer interested parties a wide range of opportunities to participate actively in the BFW.

The aim of the location marketing measures implemented by Berlin Partner and media partners from its own network in connection with the BFW is to strengthen and promote the national and international positioning of Berlin as a fashion location. In line with this, the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises supports the sustainability measures implemented by the Fashion Council Germany in cooperation with Studio MM04, which are intended to make the BFW a transparent and responsible fashion platform for national and international stakeholders.
