Style and solidarity: The exclusive Berlin scarf

Berlin, 5 March 2025 – A fashion statement and a sign of solidarity at the same time: The exclusively designed edition of the Berlin scarf will be available from 3 March. 5,000 of them will then go on general sale. For every scarf sold, 15 euros will be donated to three organisations that help the homeless.

The Berlin winter is long and cold. This is particularly felt by the approximately 5,000 to 8,000 people who live on the streets of the capital without a permanent roof over their heads. A further 47,000 or so people are accommodated in emergency shelters. Partner für Berlin, together with the State of Berlin (Senate Chancellery) and the agencies THE HAUS 360 and DOJO Berlin, initiated the “A Scarf for Berlin” campaign to support organisations that help homeless Berliners in need.

Anyone wishing to obtain one of the 5,000 scarfs can do so online at www.berlin-schal.de or in selected stores such as the Superconscious Store at Torstrasse 72 or the Kulturkaufhaus Dussmann. The black and white scarf with coloured patches showing the Berlin logo costs 35 euros (excluding shipping) and is made of 80 percent cotton and 20 percent wool. 15 euros of every scarf sold will be donated to the following organisations Strassenfeger e.V., Strassenkinder e.V. and GEBEWO pro gGmbh.

Dr. Stefan Franzke, CEO of Partner für Berlin: “The Berlin scarf offers a simple way to show solidarity: It is not only a stylish statement for our city, but also puts compassion and charity on the shoulders of Berliners.”
