40 SECONDS BERLIN

Thorsten Schermall, CEO, 40 SECONDS BERLIN

1. Describe your company.

40 SECONDS BERLIN: Full-service provider in MICE, catering, hospitality, and school meals. Our credo: "You define, we execute for YOU." Genuine hospitality combined with professionalism. #BerlinEvents #CateringExcellence.

2. Why are you involved as a Berlin-Partner?

As an owner-managed Berlin-based company, we are not only employers for more than 100 employees but also want to take responsibility for and promote Berlin as a business location by engaging as a "Berlin Partner."

3. What topics drive you in relation to your industry?

Innovation, quality, service, and customer orientation are the cornerstones of our industry. Rising energy costs, staff shortages, and increasingly last-minute bookings are the daily challenges we face. Positive feedback from our customers drives us forward.

4. What makes Berlin special for you?

Berlin is the most exciting and vibrant metropolis on the European mainland. The increasing number of tourists speaks for itself, setting a clear direction. Berlin offers the perfect mix of charm, elegance, quirkiness, and international flair.

5. Why is Berlin attractive for your company?

Berlin is attractive because it is an international hotspot for events, gastronomy, and lifestyle. The city offers a dynamic atmosphere, a wide range of cultural activities, and strong support for innovative businesses.

6. What does Berlin stand for to you?

For us, Berlin stands for freedom, creativity, and innovation. The city is a melting pot of different cultures and ideas, which are reflected in our work.

7. How does your company implement the topic of sustainability?

Sustainability is a key part of our business. We focus on regional and seasonal products, reduce our ecological footprint, and actively engage in environmentally friendly practices in our industry. From sourcing to disposal, we ensure sustainable solutions and contribute to protecting the environment.
