AI MONTH MAY

Berlin, 13 May 2024 -May is all about Artificial Intelligence (AI), with over 70 events across Germany as part of the event initiative for the German AI Month May 2024.

The capital region has developed into a leading technology and research centre: Since the 2000s, an increasing number of AI companies have settled here. According to an AppliedAI study, around a third of the relevant AI companies in Germany are based in Berlin and Brandenburg, which distinguishes the region as a central AI hub in Germany. Up to 65 professors are conducting research at universities and research institutes in various fields of application.

One example is the Airport Region Berlin Brandenburg as a hotspot for innovation, where research institutions and universities meet startups to jointly drive forward pioneering technologies. Many project ideas from the academic sector are developed into marketable products here. The intensive cooperation between established companies and startups promotes the lively exchange of knowledge and technology in various fields of application such as business intelligence, process management, health intelligence, mobility solutions and urban research.

The cross-state ICT, media and creative industries cluster, with over 50,000 companies in twelve industrial sectors, including AI, blockchain, IoT and virtual reality, plays a central role in this. The cluster promotes technology transfer and the development of ecosystems that strengthen the innovative power of our region. The German AI Month May 2024 offers a platform to experience the potential of AI and to network with leading minds from science and industry. The highlight of the German AI Month May events is the Rise of AI conference, which has brought together AI experts, decision-makers, opinion leaders and game changers every year since 2014 to discuss Artificial Intelligence for society, politics and business.
