Berlin Greentech Festival

Berlin, 16 May 2024 – “Accelerating Change from Berlin” – this is the motto of the Greentech Festival Berlin, which will be held at the Messe Berlin from 15 to 17 May 2024. The international audience, consisting of companies, organisations and people from all over the world, can expect a diverse and “green” program – the focus of the event is on technologies and ideas for a sustainable life, but also on ways out of the climate crisis. The festival includes a conference and an exhibition area in which, in addition to numerous companies from Berlin and Brandenburg, Berlin Partner will also be represented with a stand.

The up to 20,000 visitors expected can look forward to plenty of input. In addition to 200 speakers, 250 exhibitors will present progressive ideas and solutions relating to green, environmentally friendly technologies and invite visitors to exchange ideas and engage in constructive discussions. The Green Award honours particularly innovative projects and their creators. An expert 60-member jury will make the decision: A total of eight nominees in the three categories “Youngster”, “Pioneer” and “Milestone” inspire with progressive ideas and exciting projects.

Things will also be exciting at the Berlin Partner stand. The Coordination Office for Circular Economy, Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection in Business (KEK) will be presented here among others. This is aimed at Berlin companies that want to contribute to achieving climate protection targets, reduce their energy costs or conserve resources. The KEK offers them low-threshold access to advice and support services and also organises free information events on constantly changing topics at regular intervals. There is also a particular focus on networking between the stakeholders involved and on opportunities for dialogue. The KEK promotes this in its role as regional coordinator of the dena Initiative for Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection Networks (IEEKN).

In addition to the KEK, the team from the Berlin Partner Network will also be on site. The business network brings together over 250 partners from business and science with the most important stakeholders from the fields of politics, culture, sport, research and business. The festival’s overarching network concept is thus also given space at regional and local level to develop further together. Dr. Stefan Franzke, Managing Director of Berlin Partner confirms: “The GreenTech Festival is our opportunity to position Berlin as a stage for innovative green technologies and to link business and science even better. This is the only way we can drive forward the development of sustainable technical solutions to save energy and resources so that the capital remains liveable for everyone and is well positioned for the future.”

The Greentech Festival Berlin marks the start of a first-ever “world tour”. In addition to Berlin, London (4 to 5 September 2024), Los Angeles (14 to 15 November 2024) and Singapore (exact details to be announced) will also host the platform for green technologies. The joint motto could not be more topical: Let’s celebrate change all over the planet – because this planet needs change.

Incidentally, the event has found a new home at the first-class location at the Messe Berlin. After five successful editions at the Urban Tech Republic area of the former Tegel Airport, Kraftwerk Berlin and the former Tempelhof Airport, the start of a long-term partnership between Messe Berlin and Europe’s largest sustainability festival was announced last November.
