Future is now

31. August 2023 - "Future is now!" is the motto of this year's Startup Night SUN23, which takes place on 1 September in Berlin. A bit of a "right now" motto given the ongoing challenges for the startup community. More than 100 startups from different sectors present themselves at Deutsche Telekom's representative office in the capital.

Marcia Schranner, Coordinator Startups at Berlin Partner: "Startup Night SUN has made a name for itself throughout Germany and Europe as it provides a stage for young founders in particular. They can use this event as a contact point to get information on the topic of entrepreneurship, participate in workshops and learn about various support services - but above all, meet investors, potential cooperation partners and customers."

Dr Stefan Franzke, CEO of Berlin Partner: "Berlin continues to be one of the most popular startup hotspots in Europe - and our ecosystem continues to grow. As a startup hub and science metropolis, we stand for innovation and new technologies. Here, founders find good location conditions and an open society as well as access to venture capital. The dynamic growth has already catapulted us to number 1 in the Fintech sector.”

Cultivated, plant and algae-based proteins, sustainable, fair and functional food and beverage innovations as well as innovative agritech and packaging solutions will be the focus of Foodnight Berlin, which will take place on the occasion of Startup Night on the same day in the Microsoft Atrium. Here, 24 startups related to these topics will present themselves.  After successful pitches, at the end of the day the food startup association crowdfoods will present its awards in the categories "Best Food & Beverage Startup", "Best AgriFood-Tech Startup" and "Best Food/Tech Newcomer".

Startupnight (www.startupnight.net) is jointly organised by Deutsche Telekom, Berlin Partner, Investitionsbank Berlin, Crowdfoods, WLOUNGE and On the Rock and supported by the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises and the European Commission.
