Andrea Joras joins Berlin Partner

A Solid Team to Head Up Berlin Partner for Business and Technology

As of July 1, 2015, Andrea Joras will be joining Dr. Stefan Franzke to jointly oversee operations at Berlin Partner for Business and Technology. The certified economatrician was previously with the German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ), where she acquired considerable experience at the confluence of business, science and politics. “Andrea Joras brings to the table precisely what’s needed to promote business, trade and industry, namely economic expertise, international experience and, most importantly, enthusiasm for Berlin as a place to do business. Together, Ms. Joras and Dr. Franzke will work to shape Berlin’s economic growth,” says Dr. Andreas Eckert, Board Chairman at Berlin Partner for Business and Technology.

Andrea Joras most recently directed German operations for GIZ out of Berlin. Prior to that, the Stuttgart native held other responsibilities at GIZ, including overseeing the Middle East regional office and the public sector division. In her new position, 44-year-old Joras will be applying her broad expertise in the acquisition of third-party funding at both the national and the European levels. The solid team of Joras and Franzke will pursue the varied range of issues related to business development and capital-city marketing for Berlin’s booming economy. Ms. Joras will focus on continuing to develop capital-city marketing and on appropriately reorganizing Berlin Partner internally. Dr. Stefan Franzke will serve as Management Spokesperson.
