Amano Hotel Group
Zeèv Rosenberg, Head of Business Development
1. Describe your company in a tweet.
The AMANO Group is a Berlin hotel company founded in 2009 by the Süsskind, Schiff & Rokeach families. Each hotel stands out for its special F&B concepts and is also firmly anchored in the nightlife of their destinations. The AMANO Hotel Group has eight hotels in Berlin and one each in Munich, Düsseldorf and London, as well as restaurants and bars and rooftop bars in Berlin, Munich and London.
2. Why are you involved as a Berlin-Partner?
As an important economic component of Berlin's hotel and restaurant industry, it is very important for us to intensify and expand our commitment to the Berlin economy.
3. What issues drive you in terms of your industry?
Life Style Hotels, innovative restaurant and bar concepts that are considered cult in Berlin. Our restaurants such as MANI, Joseph, Habeit and Pizza Mario as well as our bars have become indispensable in Berlin. In March 2023, AMIGO Cohen followed, which is located in ROMY by AMANO and is a Mexican-Israeli restaurant.
4. What makes Berlin special for you?
Berlin is one of the coolest cities in Europe and has much more to offer than beer and currywurst. The famous art scene and gastro scene as well as its flashy nightlife, which lasts well into the next morning, give the city a dynamic and at the same time tough, unvarnished character. Even the former mayor, Klaus Wowereit said Berlin is "poor but sexy", Berlin attracts people from all over the world with its cool, mysterious nature.
5. Why is Berlin attractive for your company?
Since we are Berliners, it has always been clear that Berlin is our main location to do business and act as hotel, gastro and bar ambassadors for Berlin.
6. What does Berlin stand for you?
Berlin is the most attractive city in Germany for young artists, start-ups and of course for restaurateurs and hoteliers. It is the only city in Germany that never sleeps and is always trying to evolve. Berlin is freestyle and modern as well as chaotically friendly, which is what makes it so charming.
7. How does your company implement the topic of sustainability?
We have a sustainability project that we are in the process of implementing up to international certification. This topic has been on AMANO's mind for a long time and due to the pandemic and the expansion in the last 2 years, we unfortunately had to postpone this in order to bring all the businesses up to standard while they are open. Now we are fully committed to achieving our sustainability goals with our partner this year and next year.
