Launch of the new CEC offer
Where can companies get support to make their contribution to the ecological transformation? How can you work in a climate-protecting and resource-saving manner and what does circular economy mean for your own business?
The expanded “Coordination Office for Circular Economy, Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection in Business”, or CEC for short, comprehensively supports and accompanies manufacturing companies in establishing measures in their economic cycle: for more energy efficiency, climate protection and, now, for the change from a linear course to a circular one.
The circular economy refers to a model of production and consumption in which existing materials and products are shared, leased, reused, repaired, refurbished and recycled for as long as possible. This extends the life cycle of the products and minimises waste. This counteracts the global overexploitation of natural resources and saves a lot of additional greenhouse gas emissions.
The path to a circular and ultimately climate-neutral economy cannot succeed without the help of companies. “The CEC is also there to untangle the funding jungle for companies,” said Franziska Giffey, Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises at the CEC launch event. Every company can make a valuable contribution to making Berlin climate-neutral. Franziska Giffey: “To achieve this, we need to drive forward the transformation of the economy.”
There is often a lack of know-how or resources to prepare for the future and take advantage of opportunities. With its expanded service, the “Coordination Office for Circular Economy, Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection in Business” is based at Berlin Partner, among other locations. It offers free advice to small and medium-sized companies. Workshops (One to One and One to Many), detailed on-site consultations and information on funding opportunities are planned.
Dr. Stefan Franzke, CEO of Berlin Partner: “With our sustainability service that we offer at Berlin Partner, we support companies with collaborations, funding programs and solutions. That is why the new project fits perfectly into daily business and we look forward to being able to provide manufacturing companies with offers for resource protection, networking and circular design in the future. I am convinced that the circular economy is the future and it is all the more important that we start now.”
The CEC is financed and supported by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises and the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment.
