Fashion in focus: Berlin Fashion Week 2024
5 February 2024 - Twice a year, creative people, industry experts and interested parties gather in Berlin to celebrate the current fashion trends as part of the Berlin Fashion Week. Alongside established labels, up-and-coming designers present individual pieces and entire collections, reissued classics and their own designs in a wide variety of styles. They combine colours, patterns and materials to create some surprising, some daring, but always expressive and convincing fashionable creations that are carried from Berlin into the world.
The program for this year’s first Berlin Fashion Week, taking place from 5 to 8 February, is just as colourful as the city itself: Trade fairs, fashion shows and a variety of B2B and B2C events in different locations throughout the city invite you to enjoy innovative fashion and Berlin’s big city flair in equal measure. For example, the Namilia label uses the Gemäldegalerie in the Kulturforum, the designer Marina Hoermanseder resides in Haus Zenner in Treptower Park and the duo Rianna+Nina make a guest appearance at the Bode Museum. The historic press café, Bikini Berlin, the Kronprinzenpalais, galleries, hotels like the Adlon Kempinski or Pullmann Schweizer Hof, restaurants, bars and numerous event locations are other addresses that fashion enthusiasts are heading to in these days.
According to its website, Berlin Fashion Week sees itself as a movement for creativity, sustainability and innovation and acts as a stage for self-realisation, freedom and inclusion. Values that reflect the cosmopolitanism and innovative spirit of the capital region and inspire numerous visitors every year. As a cosmopolitan platform, Berlin Fashion Week offers designers the opportunity to present both their creative work and their personal convictions. An exciting approach that also offers the opportunity for exchange, cooperation and networking this year.
Accordingly, the fashion event is always also an economic (success) factor for Berlin. In addition to an international audience, press representatives, buyers and many other relevant stakeholders will not miss out on a visit to the capital. The relocation of events from the mobile event tent at the Brandenburg Gate, which was still in use a few years ago, to numerous prestigious Berlin venues does the rest – the charm of the diverse cityscape and at the same time the promising business location of Berlin unfolds in a particularly impressive way.
